Project Description

In the process of my transition into UX design, I created myself a “practical guide” as a course material
to clarify and structure the principles and notions that I have learned so far.

To achieve this, I first followed during the summer, an introductory training in UX Design at INIS
followed by a MOOC of 6 modules on the basics of UX Design developed by the HEC Montréal Industrial Research Chair.
I also followed several online tutorials on the Linkedin learnings platform
and read a lot of books on the subject that helped me a lot in the discovery of UX Design.

However, I had some troubles to understand some abstract approaches and methods, so in order to clarify them,
I set myself a goal to meet this need.
So I group together the different information that I took in notes
during the tutorials, trainings and software tests that I followed.

To explain my approach :

  • I first collected a maximum of data and information

  • Then, I set myself a goal according to the method S.M.A.R.T (Specific – Measurable – Achievable – Realistic – Temporarily defined) :

  • Objective: Create a simple, effective and structured course material

  • Scope: material structure(according to the rules of the number 3):

    1. Definition and etymology of UX

    2. Worflow of the different steps

    3. Details of each steps of the workflow

  • Once my needs were defined, I then organized and sorted my notes according to the following structure :

    • An introduction diagram of each step to have a global point of view

    • Un schéma d’introduction de chaque étape pour avoir un point de vue globale

    • Integrate the different methodologies according to the workflow steps

    • Link theory and notions to the workflow steps

    • Simplify as much as possible the different concepts and methods through schemas

  • Finally, I got an indesign template, which I modified in landscape format (horizontal) to gather all of my knowledge

Here is the result of this project which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in UX design :
